Five Nigerians busted for drug peddling

The suspects were arrested in the Prestea Huni-Valley District following a swoop by the Western Regional Office of the Pharmacy Council with the support of the Police.

Police in the Western Region have arrested five Nigerian nationals for allegedly selling illegal drugs.

A Ghanaian woman who managed to escape had her wares running into thousands confiscated, Takoradi-based Empire FM reports.

Most of the drugs being sold by the Nigerians are reportedly meant for penis and buttocks enlargement.

ASP Simon Deta, the Huni-Valley District Crime Officer in an interview with Empire FM said that the suspects will be investigated and prosecuted.

The Pharmacy Council, the body mandated to regulate the sale of medicines in the country have often raised concerns about the increase in drug peddling business.

But Police have assured that foreign nationals involved in the illegal trade will not spared when caught.
